
Amman, May 27 - The Public Service and Administration Commission launched, yesterday, Sunday, a project to develop the government leadership management system, in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development, with the aim of preparing government leaders according to the principles of merit and entitlement, and in line with the human resources management system that was recently approved by the Council of Ministers.
Chairman of the Civil Service and Administration Commission, Sameh Al-Nasser, said that government leaderships at all levels are the cornerstone in developing the state’s public administration, to achieve advanced and distinguished performance that meets the hopes of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the aspirations of citizens, and is tangibly reflected in the level of services provided to citizens.
He stressed the importance of the government leadership axis to prepare an integrated and effective system in the public sector based on developing the skills of leaders and refining their administrative and executive skills in cooperation with the Institute of Public Administration, which contributes to enhancing institutional efficiency and achieving strategic goals. Al Nasser appreciated the support of the United States Agency for International Development for the project, stressing the importance of concerted efforts to achieve integration between the various projects that the Authority is working on to develop the process of human resources management in the public sector.
For his part, the Executive Director of the Policy and Standards Development Department at the Authority, Dr. Bandar Abu Tayeh, stressed the importance of the Government Leadership Management System Development Project, and its significant role in supporting young leaders, and enabling competent employees to assume leadership positions at an early age, by activating the fast track, and creating an incubating environment for young talents.
He pointed out that leaders at all levels bear responsibility for the success of the institution, stressing the importance of continuous training for leaders to improve efficiency and effectiveness, and to achieve the project’s objectives that enhance leadership and administrative skills, which contributes to providing distinguished government services and supporting innovation in the public sector.
For her part, the project consultant, Engineer Badria Al-Balbeisi, pointed out that the project aims to organize the environment of government leadership relations in an integrated manner according to a healthy, supportive and cooperative environment, which is what was included in the roadmap for modernizing the public sector, the human resources discussion papers attached to it, and the human resources strategy in the civil service 2023-2027.
