
Amman, August 5 (Petra) - Heba Al-Assis - The Public Service and Administration Authority organized today, Monday, the second consultative session on the directives contained in the instructions and their implications emanating from the amended human resources and civil service systems, for secretaries, general directors, and chief executives at the level of secretary-general in government departments and institutions.
The session came as a continuation of the sessions held by the Authority on the contents of the priority instructions that will be issued under Human Resources System No. (33) of 2024, in cooperation with the Public Sector Modernization Programs Management and Implementation Unit in the Prime Minister’s Office, and with the support of the Governance Strengthening Project funded by the United States Agency for International Development.
The session aimed to identify the most important contents in the instructions for managing and evaluating performance, instructions for motivating exceptional performance, working hours (formal, flexible, and part-time), correcting conditions, and others.
The head of the Public Service and Administration Authority, Sameh Al-Nasser, stressed during the session the importance of the consultative sessions that came as part of the authority’s constant endeavor to communicate with all of the authority’s partners, and based on the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and the Minister of State to Modernize the Public Sector, with the aim of presenting the most prominent contents contained in the two resources systems. Human capacity and the rate of civil service aimed at raising the level of overall performance and productivity in the public sector.
He said: “We seek to facilitate citizen service as it is the focus of the administrative modernization process, and to consult on the priority instructions emerging from it, which the Authority is preparing and discussing with partners in government agencies, in a manner consistent with best practices, and embodying the participatory approach and openness that is considered the basis for implementing the Authority’s tasks.” .
He stated that this requires a high degree of coordination and cooperation with partners in government departments and institutions, in line with the royal vision and the ambition of the people to develop the level of public services provided.
In turn, the Executive Director of Policies and Standards Department at the Authority, Dr. Bandar Abu Tayeh, reviewed a number of instructions, including: “official and flexible working hours, exceptional performance, part-time in the public sector, and performance management and evaluation.”
During the session, there was a discussion about the instructions and answering the inquiries of the secretaries, general directors and chief executives from the policies and standards management team at the Public Service and Administration Authority, and receiving their comments and consulting on them.
